Beyond the City Center: Discover Barcelona’s Hidden Neighborhoods

The best part? With TMB’s public transport network, you can get there easily and hassle-free. Here are some ideas to break away from the usual routes and experience a different Barcelona.

Poblenou: Beach, Factories, and Creativity

Once an industrial hub, Poblenou is now a fascinating mix of converted factories, creative spaces, galleries, trendy cafés, and quiet streets that lead to the sea. It's the perfect area to wander, discover street art, or wind down your day at Bogatell Beach.

How to get there:
Metro L4 to Poblenou or Llacuna.
Bus H14, V25, or 136.

A Secret Garden in Horta

If you're looking for a moment of calm, we suggest a visit to the Laberint d’Horta, a neoclassical garden with walking paths, sculptures, and — as its name suggests — a hedge maze where you can literally get lost. A romantic and very special hideaway.

How to get there:
Metro L3 to Mundet, then a 10-minute walk.
Bus 7 or 76.

Sants, a Neighborhood with Soul

The Sants neighborhood still feels like a small town within the big city. You'll find local shops, traditional markets, and spaces like the Parc de l’Espanya Industrial, with giant metal dragons, modern sculptures, and plenty of room to relax.

How to get there:
Metro L1 to Plaça de Sants or Hostafrancs.
Bus D20, V7, or 115.

Beyond Football in Les Corts

Sure, there’s Camp Nou (currently being transformed into the new Espai Barça), but Les Corts also offers peaceful green spaces like the Jardins de la Maternitat and the university area. It’s an elegant, lesser-known neighborhood worth exploring.

How to get there:
Metro L3 to Les Corts or Palau Reial.
Bus 54, 63, H8, or V5.

Nou Barris: Multicultural and Green

With large open areas like the Parc Central de Nou Barris, this district blends nature, modern architecture, and vibrant community life. It’s ideal for a stroll, a picnic, or discovering cultural spaces like the former district hall or local libraries.

How to get there:
Metro L4 to Via Júlia or L3 to Canyelles.
Bus D40, H4, or V27.
