FC Barcelona is in the midst of one of the most ambitious projects in its history: the comprehensive renovation of the Spotify Camp Nou. This project, called Espai Barça, aims to transform the legendary stadium into a modern and innovative facility capable of competing with the best stadiums in the world.

Currently, Barça is not playing at the Spotify Camp Nou due to renovation work that began in 2023. These renovations, which affect not only the stadium but also the immediate surroundings, will increase the stadium's capacity to over 105,000 spectators and incorporate state-of-the-art technology to enhance the fan experience, with a full roof for the stadium.

The Estadi Olímpic, the new temporary home

During this period, the blue-and-burgundy team is playing its home games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc. This temporary move has involved some logistical changes for fans, but the club has assured that all these inconveniences will be worth it once the new Camp Nou is ready.

The future stadium will not only be larger but also more sustainable. It is designed to be environmentally friendly, using renewable energy and sustainable materials. Additionally, the Espai Barça project includes other facilities such as the new Palau Blaugrana, which will begin construction in mid-2025, an office campus, and commercial and leisure areas.

Thus, Barça is approaching this transition with its sights set on a future full of innovation and growth, where fans will be able to enjoy an iconic stadium that preserves its history while looking to the future.

The return of FC Barcelona to the Spotify Camp Nou is expected for early 2025, although the inauguration of the new stadium will take place in the 2025-26 season. So, mark the date on your calendar to dive into one of the world's sports temples!
