If you're looking for special ways to enjoy Christmas, here are some of this season’s must-do activities.
See the city by night on the Barcelona Christmas Tour
One of the highlights of the holidays is the Barcelona Christmas Tour,, the night-time bus that travels through the city’s most beautifully lit streets. For an hour and a half, you can enjoy the Christmas lights from a privileged viewpoint: Passeig de Gràcia, Sagrada Família, Plaça Catalunya, Gran Via and many more iconic spots shine brighter than ever.
This year, we also hosted a fam trip with 30 content creators, who experienced the tour first-hand and shared its magic with thousands of followers around the world. A great success that shows how this route has become a true essential of the Christmas season in Barcelona.
A perfect plan for couples, families or friends. Don’t wait too long — tickets are selling out fast!
Christmas markets: tradition at every stand
Barcelona is home to some of the most emblematic Christmas markets in Catalonia:
- Fira de Santa Llúcia, in front of the Cathedral, with nativity figurines, decorations and the iconic tió.
- Fira de la Sagrada Família, offering handmade crafts and unique gifts.
- Christmas at Port Vell, a festive area filled with lights, attractions and music by the sea.
These markets are perfect places to find a special gift or simply enjoy the festive atmosphere while strolling.
Nativity scenes and Christmas traditions
Barcelona keeps the nativity scene tradition alive, and every year you can find some surprising interpretations:
- The Plaça Sant Jaume nativity scene, always presented with an artistic and conceptual twist.
- The traditional nativity at the Museum Frederic Marès, a delight for fans of classic figurines.
You can also enjoy carol performances, family activities and creative workshops throughout the city.
