Just a step away from Barcelona lies Baix Llobregat, a region full of tourist attractions that combine cultural heritage, nature, and history.

Here are 10 proposals to discover its charms, all with easy access by public transport:

  1. Gaudí Crypt and Colonia Güell (Santa Coloma de Cervelló): 

    Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Gaudí Crypt is a gem of Catalan modernism. Located within the Colonia Güell, it offers guided tours and audioguides in 10 languages.

    Hours: Monday to Sunday, from 10 am to 3 pm. Closed on January 1st and 6th, December 25th and 26th. Transport: TMB Bus and FGC (Colonia Güell stop).

  2. Jujol Center – Can Negre and Jujol Modernist Itinerary (Sant Joan Despí): 

    Josep Maria Jujol transformed Can Negre into a work of modernist art. From here, you can follow the Jujol itinerary to visit other emblematic houses.

    Hours: Visit the Jujol Center from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8 pm; Friday from 10 am to 1 pm and Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm. Jujol Modernist Itinerary, the last Sunday of every month at 11 am. Virtual visit available. 

    Transport: TMB Bus and Renfe (Sant Joan Despí stop).

  3. Can Tinturé and La Rajoleta (Esplugues de Llobregat): 

    The Museums of Esplugues include a visit to Can Tinturé, with its collection of sample tiles, and "La Rajoleta," with its unique kilns.

    Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from 10 am to 2 pm. Guided tours every Sunday. With prior reservation, they can be conducted in English. 

    Transport: TMB Bus (200 m away), metro (Can Vidalet 1.8 km away), and TRAM (Pont d’Esplugues 250 m away).

  4. Gavà Mines Archaeological Park: 

    This archaeological park preserves the oldest gallery mines in Europe and offers an immersive museographic experience.

    Hours: Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Saturdays from 10 am to 6:45 pm. Sundays and holidays from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Last access 60 minutes before closing. 

    Transport: TMB Bus and Renfe (Gavà stop).

  5. Castelldefels Castle and Piratia:

     Castelldefels Castle offers a historical visit with the interactive Piratia experience, which immerses you in the world of piracy.

    Hours: Until October 31: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 7 pm. In winter: Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, from 10 am to 6 pm. 

    Transport: TMB Bus and Renfe (Castelldefels stop).

  6. Natural Spaces of the Llobregat Delta (El Prat de Llobregat): 

    The natural spaces of the delta are a biodiversity reserve of international importance, ideal for nature lovers.

    Hours: The accessible spaces are permanently open and vary in hours depending on the time of year. Closed spaces are closed on Mondays and December 25th and 26th, January 1st and 6th. 

    Transport: Metro + TMB Bus.

  7. Catalonia in Miniature (Torrelles de Llobregat): 

    A theme park that recreates Catalonia's most representative monuments and buildings in miniature.

    Hours: Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. 

    Transport: Combined Renfe ticket + L62.

  8. Estrella Damm Brewery (El Prat de Llobregat): 

    Discover the beer-making process with guided tours and tastings in English.

    Hours: Check the website for availability. 

    Transport: Metro.

  9. Agbar Water Museum (Cornellà de Llobregat): 

    A museum that explores the importance of water throughout history, with interactive exhibitions.

    Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays, January 1st and 6th, December 25th and 26th. 

    Transport: Metro, TRAM, and FGC.

  10. Beaches and Beach Clubs of Gavà and Castelldefels: 

    The beaches of Gavà and Castelldefels offer leisure and relaxation spaces, with various beach clubs and beach bars.

    Hours: Accessible all year round. The beach clubs and beach bars have varying hours depending on the season. 

    Transport: TMB Bus L94 and L95, Renfe.
