To do it safely, we remind you of the main health measures: maintaining a safety distance, washing your hands frequently with soap and water or with hydroalcoholic gel, and wearing a mask.

Open spaces in Barcelona to discover

Barcelona offers a multitude of options to have fun outdoors. Without a doubt, the best known are the Ciutadella Park, the Serra de Collserola Natural Park, the Montjuïc mountain and the city’s beaches.

However, we also encourage you to visit the districts of the city and discover other green spaces. Turó Park, in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, is one of the most emblematic, along with the Joan Miró Park, where you can find the sculpture ‘Woman and bird’. On the other hand, in the district of Les Corts you can visit the Gardens of the Royal Palace of Pedralbes, one of the most stately in the city.

Two parks with an industrial past are La Barceloneta and La Pegaso. The first is built on the grounds of the old Catalana de Gas factory, and the second in a location that previously housed a truck factory.

To enjoy spectacular views of Barcelona, stroll through the Guinardó Park and the Mossèn Costa i Llobera Gardens. In the Creueta del Coll and the Central de Nou Barris parks, lakes and ponds are the protagonists.

And finally, the prestigious architect Jean Nouvel designed the Parc del Centre del Poblenou, in the Sant Martí district.

To get around the city in comfort, you have at your disposal the Hola Barcelona Travel Card, a ticket that adapts to your trip regardless of the number of days you’re staying in Barcelona.

Cultural activity continues its course

Museums, theatres, exhibition halls and monuments are safe spaces and remain open, always complying with the current measures to stop Covid-19. Currently, their capacity is reduced, so you can experience them in a different way, with less crowds and more personalised guided tours.

The Picasso Museum, La Pedrera, the Gran Teatre del Liceu…They’re all waiting for you. As a recommendation, plan your visit beforehand and find out on their web pages about opening hours and days and buy your tickets online.

The safety of travelling by public transport

The city's bus and metro lines are still running, and TMB, the main public transport company in Barcelona and the metropolitan area, guarantees travel safety.

To plan your routes and find out when the metro and buses are less crowded, check the TMB website for the estimated average occupancy indicators for the metro and bus by line, direction, station and time slot.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, cleaning and disinfection activities have been intensified, both in the metro and buses and in other means of transport, such as the funicular and the Montjuïc Cable Car.

You must maintain a safe distance from others and wash your hands when exiting public transport, and you mustn’t make use of it if you are unwell or have symptoms of coronavirus.
